SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
The market for high-tech performance athletic wear has exploded in the last ten years. Yet many highly engineered synthetics are not eco-friendly. Polyesters, acrylics, rayon and other popular materials used in today’s clothing items can take up to 200 years to break down in a landfill. We work with Recover Brands to keep those products out of landfills and to reuse whatever’s possible.
At Tree Athletix, we believe high performance can be highly sustainable.
Tree Athletix represents a youth movement to promote and protect the future through sustainable practices and apparel. We are athletes with a bigger goal in sight.
“Growing up on an apple orchard and being in the farm space helped me learn to value the natural world around us,” says Gwen. “There’s no reason a favorite sport -- which gets you outside and active -- should cause harm to nature.”
Performance + Sustainability: One Brand that Does Both
With its bold superhero-like logo and a commitment to recovering materials, Tree Athletix is all about the strength you find in the natural world. The brand is designed for hockey, lacrosse and other sports enthusiasts, young and old, who care about the source and life cycle of the sportswear they use. Here’s a look at how the materials for Tree Athletix products are created from recycled plastic bottles:

Printing Process
Tree Athletix is able to print simple to complex designs directly onto the garment. Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing uses water-based ink, which makes it a more sustainable option. Due to the digital printing, DTG also has less ink waste at the end of the printing process, which is a more eco-friendly option.
